I think the sound of the second bridge is more strident , clearer somehow. Though they both sound good I prefer the second.

Thank you!! Me too! I love how some people prefers the other one, right for the same reasons! This instrument can be clear and cutting-through as well as dark and penetrating, and the tastes on sound are so variable. When one doesn’t have prejudices on what to expect, they can get so many artistic results!!

I love the plum with blue striped shirt, and also the bridge :-) I will give it another listen with good headphones later to confirm.

First bridge: Better for higher strings, the sound is clearer.

Second bridge: lower strings sound better, more carrying

Yes, that's our opinion too. The first bridge is an earlier design, the second is more 18th century. So this was in a way expected. It's hard to get everything at the same time!!!
