I am enjoying your Substack. A few years ago I stumbled on to the da spalla. Now a young maker offered to make me one because he wants to learn and develop his skills. The price is very good for me. He made an abnormally large viola that has a beautiful sound so I have high hopes. He has the Biadarov plans. I am an amateur violinist. I can play the Bach A minor and C major fugues and other movements of the S&Ps. I sing bass so I am always fingering bass clef in my head to hear intervals so I hope it is not too hard to adapt. Thank you for your informative Substack.

You are welcome! Please give us more news when you have your new instrument at hand! To me reading bass clef was the hardest challenge, so as you are already over that, you’ll feel at home!
