Updates from our workshop
We had a great holiday in Sardinia: we met old friends, had super-tasty food, and it was warm enough to swim in the sea!
We visited several archaeological sites and museums, and we noticed that some of the most incredible finds were excavated only about ten years ago! For example, in 2013, they found 28 stone statues of giant warriors, all in pieces, but with them some tiny bronzes which are identical and helped in reconstructing the statues. The town of Tharros is known as a Phoenician town, but only in Carthage they found more Punic stele than there. One day, we went for a swim and on the beach, we met an archaeologist measuring the stones beside us. He explained that they were probably remains of Punic or Phoenician sarcophagus, and the arch above us was of a Roman aqueduct.
It was such an interesting and recharging holiday, so now back at work!
