This week I’ve been tired for the past ten days on the road, then sick for a vaccine shot, and now I am on the road again going to a karate seminar. I took every moment I could to finish the fittings for my new cello da spalla but couldn’t get to set it up. I also didn’t find the time to write something worth your time reading, so I’m here only with some news.
News from da Spalla world
This weekend (hurry up!), if you are in NYC or in Switzerland, close to Lausanne, don’t miss the opportunity to hear live the six Bach’s cello suites played on the Violoncello da Spalla.
In NYC Andrew Gonzalez is playing the first three suites tonight (Friday) and the last three next week. Lucky those that can get to this special venue, Barge music festival.
If you don’t know him yet, there are great videos on his Facebook profile and on his Instagram profile. I love his crispy style, so incisive and lively. I am sure Bach would love his playing too!
If you are on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, on this side, Sergey Malov is playing all of the six suites this Sunday, at Lausanne’s Bach festival.
Sergey doesn’t need further introductions, when I mention to someone that I make Violoncello da Spalla, Sergey Malov is the first name they tell me back! This is an occasion you really shouldn’t miss! Make sure you are following his new Instagram account!
Lausanne is Bach’s festival is not new to the Violoncello da Spalla: their opening concert this year featured La Petite Bande playing Brandeburg Concerts, with two da Spalla cellos: Yun Kim and Makoto Akatsu.
Now if this doesn’t look like a da Spalla movement, what’s that? It’s time to join! Write us if you want to try our new Violoncello da Spalla which will be settled next week!
